Stanton Upon Hine Heath village

Stanton upon Hine Heath is a quiet rural village set in the countryside of North Shropshire, within easy reach of Shawbury, Wem, Market Drayton and Shrewsbury. Close to the River Roden, the area offers excellent walking routes and easy access to nearby attractions such as Moreton Corbet Castle, managed by English Heritage, and Hawkstone Park Follies.

The village takes its name from Old English, meaning “stone enclosure” or “settlement,” and has a literary connection through the author Mary Webb, who lived here with her parents from 1896 to 1902.

Today, Stanton has a strong and active community. Events are regularly held at the village hall, as well as at the local pub, The Stanton Arms, and St Andrew’s Church.
